The CRIWG Conference on Collaboration and Technology seeks scientific papers on collaboration technology (or groupware), encompassing all aspects related to systems design and development, evaluation and work practice.

Founded in 1995, CRIWG has become a significant international and inter-disciplinary forum for researchers and professionals in the area of collaboration technology and related fields of application such as CSCW, CSCL and Social Media. CRIWG seeks papers on groupware from a wide variety of academic perspectives, ranging from theory building and engineering approaches to innovative design and evaluation methods. The authors of the best papers will be invited to submit extended versions to selected journals. PhD students are invited to present their research in the doctoral colloquium.

The CRIWG conference is supported by the Collaboration Research International Working Group (www.criwg.org), an open community of researchers. CRIWG is held in scenic and/or culturally interesting places alternating between the Americas and Europe. The workshop will be organized in such a way as to foster lively exchange, critical discussions, and collaboration. CRIWG 2012 will take place in the Lower Rhine region of Germany with University Duisburg-Essen and Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences as local organizers.
